Welcome to the web site for the ex-Cheltenham YHA Group.
In 1951 several young people formed the Cheltenham Social Group of the Youth Hostels Association* They met socially on Thursday evenings at Northlands in Cheltenham, and at weekends visited many Youth Hostels either on foot or on bicycle.
Over the years the name changed to Cheltenham YHA Group; Cheltenham and Gloucester YHA Group. Eventually the group became the Gloucestershire Outdoor Group.
This web site is about the activities of some of the members that were in the group in the late 1960s and 1970s and have met up again in recent years*** to rekindle old friendships and relive some of their experiences. We hope you like it and will visit again.
